“Freeze”, Opinion Staff Writer
Zain “Master Freeze” Ansari is a Pre-medical Neuroscience student at Wilkes University. He joined as an opinion staff writer for The Beacon as a first-year student and produces issues of The Icebox, a weekly article providing an overview of a video game and often providing tips for starters.
Freeze is currently the captain of the Wilkes ESports Super Smash Bros. Ultimate team, and is developing a presence in the NEPA Smash scene with his mains: Snake and Mr. Game & Watch. He is primarily regarded as one of the most devoted and skilled gamers at Wilkes University.
Apart from his campus presence, Freeze works as a technician for Weis Pharmacy and as a “wild-card worker” for his father’s rental property establishment, titled Blue Shell Realty, LLC. He is currently the program coordinator for the IANEPA Youth Muslim organization at Masjid Al-Noor in Wilkes-Barre.
Most people on campus may recognize Freeze by his unique sense of fashion. He is known for his sunglasses, trench coat and weekly “Suit Fridays.”
In the future, Freeze will attend medical school and complete his residency in either neurology or surgery. He will continue to compete in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in his free time and be active with the Muslim community at IANEPA facilities.
