The Wilkes University Colonels earned a spot in this upcoming weekend’s Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC). Wilkes University has also opted to host the tournament in its entirety this weekend, starting Friday. The first games of the ECAC tournament will be Wednesday, with the winners advancing to the weekend quarterfinals at Wilkes University.

The Colonels have a first round bye in the tournament for being the hosts and will play the winner of the Penn State-Behrend (20-7) and Alfred University (18-8). The Colonels will have about ten days in between their last game and the upcoming ECAC tournament, where they will look to salvage a season that looked like it was headed for a Middle Athletic Conference Freedom title, before the fourth seeded Misericordia University upset Wilkes in route to their second straight conference title.

Wilkes’ first game in the ECAC tournament will be Friday at 5:00 pm and the if the Colonels win, they will continue to play throughout the weekend. For updates on the Wilkes ECAC results, check out the Beacon following each game.
