The Colonels first matchup against Misericordia April 25 did not end up as planned.

After falling into a 6-1 hole by the fourth inning, the Colonels were unable to  come back against the visiting Cougars.

This loss dropped the Colonels to a record of 13-18 overall and 6-13 overall in league games.

Leading the Colonels in the hits column on the day were Dan Pisanchyn, Marcus Leaf, Stephen Ruch, James Brown and Bobby Schappel, each of whom had a hit in the game.

Schappel also scored the only run on the day for the Colonels on an RBI by Pisanchyn.

Starting Colonels pitcher Johnny Jan Jr. pitched for six innings, earning one strikeout with only one walk on the day after facing 28 batters.

The Cougars pitching was led by Ryan Dorosh, who pitched for eight innings while giving up four hits and two walks on the day.

Kyle Seawards, who had four RBIs out of the team’s six total runs, led the Cougars on offense.

Center fielder Jeremy DeCotiis also helped the team in the game on offense out with his two hits in the game.

The game started with a hit by Schappel leading to another hit a few at bats later to score the first run for the Colonels.

As for the first inning for the Cougars, they came right back with a run of their own when third baseman Chris Borroch reached first on a wild pitch and later scored on a fielder’s choice.

The Colonels finish the season with a double-header against Penn State-Harrisburg April 27 at Artillery Park.
