WGS event Sexual health awareness panel
On Feb. 11, the Women’s and Gender Studies Department will be hosting an event to teach students the importance of sexual health.
The event is to take place at 2 p.m. in the Henry Student Center Ballroom. During club hours that day, students can also stop by the SUB Concourse for sexual health brochures and condoms.
At the event, a guest speaker from the Wilkes University Nursing Department, a representative from Caring Communities and a health care educator for Planned Parenthood will be presenting.
The discussion, titled Women’s Reproductive Health Care, will cover topics such as empowering young people through the presentation of information about forms of birth control, sexually transmitted diseases and infections as well as how to obtain reproductive health services.
Students may also bring questions for any members on the panel.
