The Wilkes University School of Nursing will hold a professional nursing induction ceremony for sophomore nursing students at 1 p.m. Oct. 20 in the Arnaud C. Marts Center.
During the ceremony, the students will receive their white nursing lab coats and sign a code of ethics for the nursing program.
“I started it in 2005 as a way to formally acknowledge the commencement of the students’ professional nursing careers,” Joyce Chmil, director of the Clinical Nursing Simulation Center at Wilkes said. “It’s been a nice way for family and friends to celebrate their new beginning and for faculty and upperclassman to welcome them as Wilkes nurses.”
The nursing school faculty is involved with the event. For more information, contact Chmil at [email protected].
