A Wilkes University student was robbed at gunpoint early Saturday morning in front of Pearsall Hall on 109 S. Franklin St.
The female student was walking home from Mulligan’s Irish Pub at 1:46 a.m. when she was approached from behind by a man who pushed her to the ground, pointed a silver-colored handgun to her head and demanded money.
The woman handed over her black and gray purse containing an iPhone, credit card and personal items.
The suspect was described as a 5-foot-2-inch African-American male wearing a fitted cap.
He fled on foot in an unknown direction. Police are investigating. Public Safety is advising students to be aware of their surroundings and to take reasonable precautions to protect themselves.
